In case you missed it, there’s a “new” Ghostbusters coming out sometime this year. In keeping with the spirit of this “new” release (which is to say that nothing is really new except for the gender of the characters) they also updated the soundtrack. Here’s what this new version looks and sounds like:
We’re not going to go all fanboy and talk about them ruining a classic, but come on. Did they HAVE to fuck with the Ray Parker, Jr. classic? No. No they didn’t. But they did anyway. It’s like someone from Sony had an advance copy of the Foo Fighters announcement from last night and they tried to one-button the song that’s been stuck in people’s heads for decades. You called the wrong person, Sony. You should have called Ray Parker, Jr.
